Hello, second round of queries!

Second round of queries, everyone!

We have two new ones, a request for help, plus a reminder to people who responded to our previous round to check for our responses:

Uncle Remus Series - Joel Chandler Harris

Brer Fox
Brer Rabbit
Old Man Tarrypin
Tar Baby

These are two separate stories: Brer Fox Catches Old Man Tarrypin and The Tar-Baby. We're going to need you to separate these into their two titles or remove Tarrypin or Tar Baby.

Davy Crockket and Daniel Boone

We are afraid that while both Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone have a lot of folkloreish history in America, they do not have any together nor is this a story on its own. We're going to need a specific story for each one to work from or it will be rejected.

REQUEST FOR HELP

We have a nomination for another version of the 12 Dancing Princesses that features a cobbler's apprentice. (We have already approved the Brothers Grimm version where the man who successfully completes the quest is a soldier.) Although we can find references to the existence of this version, we can't find a source for it. Nominator, please help us find a source?

Thank you!

If this is butting in and not allowed, please delete, but: the Hesse (German) version has a cobbler's apprentice.

Thank you - that is helpful, but is the text of that one available online anywhere? We need there to be a source for recipients and authors to refer to in order to accept it.

I can't seem to find the text of that one in particular. Perhaps someone else will have more luck.
This link has a number of variations on the story, one of which has a 'peasant' and another a 'young man', both of which could be cobblers or shoemakers apprentices.

It's rather maddening to see it referenced everywhere but to not be able to find the text.

I've edited the Brer Rabbit nom and taken out the second nom because as you've cited the huge amount of folklore without a specific source for each of the gentlemen in the previous nom. Thank you!
