NOMINATIONS! ARE! OPEN! CLOSED!

Tagset is HERE!

Your nominations create the set of stories that can be offered and requested when signing up. The tagset is user-chosen and changes from year to year. You don't need to nominate to sign up, but you do need to nominate to ensure that what you want is in the tag set.

You can nominate up to 4 fandoms and up to 4 characters each.

Guidelines can be found here in the FAQ, resources can be found here, and of course feel free to ask the mods anything at: onceupon@fandom.exchange

Please be specific when nominating - narrow your tale down by author or origin. You can also comment on the post here to clarify which version you mean, and give us links, especially if you think we may have difficulty finding the source.

Nominate! Check back before the end of nominations to see if we have questions for you! And then, Feb 10th, SIGN-UPS!

Important Dates, all times in CST/CDT:

Nomination Period: January 20th, Sunday to February 3rd, 11:59 PM Sunday

Nominated! Excited! I nominated Thor's Wedding, but it did tell me someone has already nominated some Norse stuff under Norse Religion and Lore. I remember that last time I nominated Thor's Wedding slightly differently (with the Norse title included), so if it needs to be tweaked at all, let me know. I also put in "any other character" so that side characters/outsider POV could be thrown in, I guess. Basically if I screwed it up somehow, let me know. My other nominations seem to have gone in fine. (One day we're gonna get Thor's Wedding. lol.)

Mine too! I'll try to change it. Thanks! Also, I do have a question about something...is the end of the exchange email address actually (dot)exchange or am I missing something? I've never emailed an address like that before....

Cool! Okay, email incoming! (It's not a big deal for this exchange, just exchanges in general)

I'd like to nominate fairy tale Hans, the mermaid's son, (http://www.sacred-texts.com/neu/lfb/pi/pifb16.htm) but it isn't present as existing tag, and when I tried to put it in it didn't work, because it splits the title in half and doesn't accept. Any help possible?

Thanks! I asked because I'm not too sure of sources- like there is Seneca's Medea (https://www.theoi.com/Text/SenecaMedea.html) and some evrsions I don't know anme of, like how in some stories Corinthians kill her children.

Hello,

A question: I'd like to nominate a few characters out of Ovid's Metamorphosis. However, that's a big book that's like...a collection of a couple hundred myth short stories. What's the best way to nominate for that? Would they all go under Metamorphosis - Ovid? Or do I nominate by story/chapter since its gigantic (eg [the tale of Orpheus and Eurydice - Ovid] or [Metamorphosis Chapter X - Ovid]?)

Also, looked at the FAQ but kind of confused (sorry!) - Can we nominate more than one version of a myth? Or would it be simpler to discuss what you like about different versions in a letter? Or should we stick to the official nominated version, that's it?

(Looking so forward to this one, yay!)

By story would be great - we've had nominations like "Medusa (Metamorphoses - Ovid)" before.

You're welcome to either nominate multiple versions of a myth, or nominate one and then mention others you like too. If there's just one specific version in the tag set, which there will be for lots of stories and myths, then that's the only one an author and recip can match on, so any other version becomes an optional detail. You can suggest it to your author as another alternative, but you can't demand they follow it instead of the one that matches the tag.

I hope that helps! Glad you're looking forward to it.
