Hymn to Aphrodite - Sappho
Any Character
A straightforward prose retelling will suit me fine. Setting it in Sappho's time is awesome; so is your favorite modern AU. (Coffee shop! Library! Etc.) I just want some femslash with a touch of divine intervention to make it happen.

The Fairest Thing - Sappho
Any Character
A straightforward prose retelling will suit me fine. Setting it in Sappho's time is awesome; so is your favorite modern AU. (Coffee shop! Library! Etc.) I just want some femslash with philosophical/literary/mythological/religious musings on the nature of beauty.

The Wonderful Weaver - James Baldwin
Any Character
A straightforward prose retelling will suit me fine, especially if it goes more into Arachne's psyche. Setting it in Arachne's time is awesome; so is a modern AU, but of course preserve the fiber art elements. The story of Arachne and Athena is one of my favorites and I just want more.

Hymn to Demeter - Homer
Any Character
A straightforward prose retelling will suit me fine. Setting it way back in the depths of Archaic Greek times is awesome; so is your favorite modern AU. I prefer this story retold as consensual, bonus points if it's Persephone's idea, but this request is an explicit exception to my "non-con" DNW.

Medusa (Metamorphoses - Ovid)
Minerva (Medusa - Metamorphoses), Medusa (Medusa - Metamorphoses), Neptune (Medusa - Metamorphoses)
A straightforward prose retelling will suit me fine. Setting it in Medusa's time is awesome; so is your favorite modern AU. I am interested in Neptune's interest in Medusa, what was going on in Medusa's head from beginning to end of the story, and Minerva's reactions and motivations--like, there's the canonical "rape in MY temple, violating MY space as well as the woman's body", but there's also, I've heard, that a gorgon face is apotropaic (that is, it turns away evil) precisely because of this story, and also that a gorgon face in ancient Greece marked women's shelters, precisely because of this story--because Minerva gave Medusa protection, not a curse. As you might have guessed, this request is an explicit exception to the "non-con" DNW.

Aschenputtel | Cinderella (Fairy Tale)
Any Character
A straightforward prose retelling will suit me fine. The standard European-fairytale setting is awesome; so is your favorite modern AU. I'd really like some femslash, if you want to pull off a genderswapped Prince. I'm also particularly interested in the magical hazel tree on the mother's grave. What did the stepmother and stepsisters think of it?

The Girl Who Pretended To Be A Boy (The Violet Fairy Book - Andrew Lang)
Any Character
I will be happy with nothing less than an explicitly trans-affirming story. That said, a straightforward prose retelling will suit me fine. The standard European-fairytale setting is awesome; so is your favorite modern AU. Fet-Fruners's father and sisters are not nominated characters, but if you can work them in--the father's clearly not aware that transness is a thing, because he's so upset that he has no sons, but what do the sisters think? I do have one specific prompt: the wedding of Fet-Fruners and Iliane.
