Fandom: 梁山伯與祝英台 | The Butterfly Lovers (Chinese Folklore)
Zhu Yingtai (The Butterfly Lovers) Liang Shanbo (The Butterfly Lovers)
Summary
To put it briefly: It's Sungkyunkwan Scandal meets Romeo and Juliet! But moreover, it's so delightfully trope-y: Oh, you want your heroines geeky and determined? Check. You like your heroes hilariously dense, to the point where they don't realize their best bro is definitely a girl crushing on him despite her anvil-sized hints? We can do that too. You want hilarious cross-dressing hijinks to obtain a traditionally male eduction? Yeah, that's there too. And then it all ends in horrible tragedy. (Whoops.)
But seriously, though, I love so much about this story--that the heroine's original goal is to study and learn, that she, not the hero, is the aggressor in the romance, that you can write comedy and tragedy about the characters and still have it remain true to the characters. So expanding on any part of the story would be awesome!

Fandom: The Iliad - Homer
Hector (The Iliad) Ἀνδρομάχη | Andromache (Hellenistic Religion & Lore)
Summary
I love Andromache, and her relationship with Hektor, but also those glimmers of further characterization: her giving tactical advice to Hektor, Hektor's later mention of her as specifically tending to his horses out of love to them, her being the only sister of a houseful of brothers. While I love the way people give a more traditional Andromache so much strength, I'm equally fascinated by the possibility of a horse-mad, military-minded Theban princess that no one in Troy, except possibly Hektor, knows what to do with; or, what if Andromache didn't follow Hektor's advice to leave the war to the men quite as completely as we imagine? My only particular request with these two is that I'd love to see something pre-canon, rather than the terrible misery that awaits them- heck, I'd love to see light-hearted with them; there's no rule saying Hektor, Tamer of Horses, can't have a sense of humor:)

Summary
I love Odysseus and Penelope together, outwitting each other and everyone else around them, so: tell me about their courtship, one outwitting the other, or even Telegony fix-it fic (because honestly, I can't help but find that a terribly disappointing end for these two). I am always a fan of humor/banter/snark! Political intrigue is also something I find fascinating, as well as couples who are extraordinarily competent at ruling/manipulating/getting stuff done, so exploring that would be wonderful, too, if that is your thing! .

Summary
I don't know what it is about these legends, but I love them, every one--all the cheeky (or not so cheeky) Robins and lion-hearted Marians (though I confess to a soft spot for noblewoman secretly helping the outlaws! Marian rather than out-and-out Merry Man! Marian). But truly, anything you wish to write about these two would be much appreciated!
An alternate prompt: the Abbess of Kirklees: just what is her deal? She's supposed to be Robin's kinswoman, but just how did she come to loathe him that much?

Fandom: The Tale of Taliesin | Hanes Taliesin - Elis Gruffydd

Summary
I just…I really love this story. Honestly, this is probably my favorite fairytale or legend out of everything that I’ve read. And why not? Smartass Trickster Bard outsmarts everyone and saves his foster-father. Yes, please! Wisdom and Inspiration are literally the most valuable things in the story. And the transformation sequence in the beginning is probably one of my favorite parts…pooosibly because Taliesin technically lost that one? Yeah, I’ll admit it Gwion/Taliesin really messed up big-time in the beginning, and any story that actually acknowledges that fact and incorporates that into his character, having him deal with his mistakes and their consequences would be fantastic. Taliesin is one of my favorite characters in…well…literature though, so I’d eat up anything with him in it.
In other legends both Taliesin and Morfran end up in King Arthur’s court and I’ve always thought that would be something interesting to explore. Like, how do they first react to one another? Is it awkward? Taliesin would probably recognize Morfran from the start, but when does Morfran realize who he’s actually talking to? Does he try to kill Taliesin again? Is there a reconciliation? All of the above? Just…Go where the story takes you. This would seriously be awesome to play around with!^^
Another thing I’d love to see would be a more sympathetic take on Ceridwen. she’s always been a character who’s interested me. I mean, a witch who’s powerful and knowledgeable enough to brew up a potion of Awen? That’s badass. I can also totally understand her motivations as well. I mean, she originally brewed the potion for the sake of her son, to improve his prospects in life, and then after a year and a day’s worth of brewing and gathering potion ingredients that weren't exactly easy to come by, this Gwion kid goes and ruins all that work? Yeah I’d be pretty pissed as well. Of course she’s totally flawed, you can see that in her reaction, but that only makes me the more interested in her?
So yeah, basically, I’d love you forever if I could get a fic based off of this story. :)

Fandom: Østenfor sol og vestenfor måne | East of the Sun and West of the Moon
The Girl (East of the Sun and West of the Moon) The White Bear (East of the Sun and West of the Moon)
Summary
"After they had gone a good way, the white bear said, ‘Are you afraid?’
No, she wasn’t."
That is probably my favorite line from the story, and the reason why I love this fairytale so much. I just feel that that line is something that captures the Girl’s personality so well, and I’d love to see her character explored more, especially that fearlessness. Something focusing on her journey to the castle East of the Sun, and West of the Moon would be brilliant, especially if it goes more in depth with her thoughts and feelings during that time.
I’d also like to see her relationship with the Prince expanded upon. I’d really like to see some development there, show her spending time with the Prince as a bear and growing closer to him? What is it like, living with a bear? The story says she grew lonely, but I’ve always interpreted that as lonely for human companionship.
Alternatively, you could also write me a fic where they haven’t actually spent much time together before they were married, and now they have to learn about one another as Husband and Wife. How are they getting along? Are they fighting and having a hard time getting used to one another? Have they settled down and are living relatively peaceful lives? Or, Maybe they go on more adventures after they get married. You can do pretty much whatever you want with this story, all I ask is that you don’t break up the Girl and the Prince at the end, I really do love them as a couple and I’d rather read about them overcoming whatever differences and issues crop up, rather than being overpowered by them.

Summary
I was actually just introduced to this story during this exchange, but I immedietly fell in love with it. And why wouldn’t I? More bard-ish type characters falling under a trickster archetype, but this time she’s a badass lady as well! There is so much here interesting to explore in a fic!
Let’s start with the Queen while her husband was away. I like the idea of her keeping the Kingdom running while he was gone. Being in charge, facing new challenges, having to make difficult decisions, and dealing with court politics. This is a really great time to explore and open to so many possibilities.
I’d also love to read about the King and Queen’s journey back to their country. Tell me about how the King’s relationship with the “Lute player” develops. An exploration of the King’s sexuality and him finding himself falling in love with the “Lute Player” could be really interesting. What if he even finds himself almost disappointed when he learns that the Lute Player is his wife? And what about the Queen’s feelings about the king thinking her faithless? I know I’d be hurt and think my husband an ungrateful jerk if that was his first conclusion about me! Just give me all the complicated and messy and interesting fics please!

Summary
There are a few different ways you could go about this one. My first exposure to this story was through an AU that took place in 1960’s New York, and that was pretty cool. I’d gladly accept AU versions of any of the stories I’m requesting, so long as you kept the magic, but for this story especially, I’m specifically asking for one. Period pieces are always welcome, of course, and if you did do one I would love to know the story of how Tam Lin got captured by the Fairy Queen.
