Hello! We hope everyone is enjoying their ideas for their assignment and (optionally) treats.
Works are due in just under 8 weeks at 11:59pm CDT, Sunday May 5.
Betas
Betas are not required for this exchange, but they can be very helpful to you. A beta can help find connective bits you missed, tease out the strengths of a story, or offer insights on improvement.
Even if you aren't writing in this exchange, betaing for others is a great way to participate and have fun! Your valuable service is immensely appreciated.
If you want to help out as a beta, please reply in a comment to this post. The following information may be helpful:
-a name (especially if you're signed up - give your AO3 name to ensure you aren't asked to beta your own gift)
-how to contact you (we recommend email, but other options are possible)
-what canons you know, or are willing to familiarise yourself with (see the source spreadsheet and the sign-up summary showing which stories were requested).
-if there is anything you can't beta (by length, content, timing, etc)
-what kind of beta services you offer
Bonus:
-any specific expertise you can offer advice on
-document formats you prefer
Anonymous comments are on, but please make sure to give contact details.

I am willing to familiarize myself with any canon that can be read under… like 5 hours.
Mostly I am a spelling, grammar, and punctuation beta, and I am also happy to act as a sounding board if you want to throw ideas at someone and the rubber duck isn’t cutting it. If you want a lay-person flow/structure check, I can do that, but I’m not as good at that as I am at the other stuff (i.e. I would be giving you advice from a reader perspective on that, not like technical writer-perspective review)

Date: 2024-03-25 05:36 am (UTC)I'm not willing to beta erotica, porn, or graphic violence.
I'm DaisyNinjaGirl on AO3. Morbane knows my email! ;-)
Prefer Word or Google Docs, but as long as I can read it it should be fine.
