We're building up a pretty good tag set! Nominations END at 11:59pm CST, Sunday 30th January (see countdown).

Please help us with the following nominations:

New:
Jewish Scripture & Legend - this is nominated with a Dybbuk and a Golem as characters. We're definitely interested in having this in the tag set in some form. Nominator, did you have specific sources in mind for either or both of the legendary creatures? Otherwise we will be using the wikipedia entries.

Little Red Riding Hood (Fairy Tale) - Nominator, which version are you interested in, please? We've previously had the Perrault version and the Brothers Grimm version, for example.

The White Gown (Urban Legend) - We've approved this with the young woman, the mother, and the young man, but the gown itself is also nominated and it's not clear that is a character. Nominator, what did you have in mind?

Previous post:
La Belle et la Bête | Beauty and the Beast (Fairy Tale) - We've separately approved the Joseph Jacobs' version, but there's also a nomination for the AO3 canonical, and we can't tell which version is meant. Nominator, which version do you want? Others that we've previously approved include: the Jeanne-Marie LePrince de Beaumont version and the Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve version.

Спящая красавица - Чайковский | The Sleeping Beauty - Tchaikovsky - although this is an adaptation of a fairy tale, this exchange is for works with original written texts in the public domain. Similarly, we have not previously accepted Swan Lake. Sorry - please pick something else.

Nominator of Golem and Dybbuk here: I meant both in the broadest sense, including the various versions of the legends, from Hebrew/Yiddish sources to the more modern versions (especially German romantic literature). Tbh, "Jewish Scripture and Legend" was the closest fandom tag I could find on the AO3. I would have preferred "Jewish Folklore" as this covers it better imho. Despite a few sources that might be part of the legends' origins being of Rabbinical nature, "Scripture" does not quite apply. Referencing the Wikipedia entries is fine imho.

i nominated the white gown urban legend and was thinking of the gown as a POV character (maybe something like... the urban legend but from the POV of the white gown)

Would it work better to have the story nominated without characters, so you could prompt about it generally?

Oop, I just realized One of these is mine; I was shooting for the Jeanne-Marie LePrince de Beaumont, but I'm glad it made it into the tagset in any event.
